From Meetings to Parties

We are a traditional country pub hidden away on the edge of the village of Penn Street, just off the A404 (Amersham to Wycombe road) and we pride ourselves on the warm personal service we provide as well as the very high quality of our food.

The pub is a charming old building whose mellow red brick walls are smothered with wisteria and hanging baskets of flowers. The inn's earliest deeds date back to 1730 and it is known that it opened as a pub on 1st June 1798. The unusual name is a cricketing term, inspired by the pub’s own cricketing team who play just opposite on Sunday afternoons.

We have a beautiful private room available that can seat up to 60 approximately. We welcome groups for a variety of functions, meetings and receptions at any time of day or evening and provide a professional service with a very personal touch.  

PARTIES and RECEPTIONS - We are happy to take bookings as follows:

Less than 15 - Choose from our a la carte and specials menus

15 to 60 approx. for SET dinner or lunch menus

15 to 110 for FINGER BUFFETS

15 to 90 for HOT OR COLD FORK BUFFETS 

15 to 60 for BARBECUES
